Krafty Put The Kettle On

We are happy to announce the arrival of our new brew kettle, which will more than double our brewing capacity! We have also invested in new fermentation tanks, so we can brew and ferment even more fresh beer.

Our new brew kettle has come a long way, from the Brewiks factory in Slovenia to our brewery in Leiston via Northern Ireland. Brewiks produce ideal brewing equipment for a craft beer brewery of our size. We are very proud to be the first brewery in the UK to own a Brewiks300 system, which has been confirmed by Jonathan Mitchell, Operations Manager at Get’er Brewed.

When the demand for our beers grew rapidly this spring, Jonathan helped us arrange the purchase and transport of the new kettle within weeks. “It is such fun to brew with this well thought through piece of engineering. Every morning, I am so excited to get to the brewery and start brewing”, says Uli, our founder and head brewer. “We are now ready to further enhance the quality of our beers and expand our business.”

Brewiks microbreweries are made on a "plug and brew" principle. Unlike traditional systems, they do not require specialised installation and consist of two tuns on wheels, which play the roles of a mash tun, filter tun, boiler and whirlpool. The system has an inbuilt heat exchanger which is used for heating sparging water and for cooling of wort. At the same time, hot water is recuperated for the next brew. An inbuilt timer allows you to heat up the brewing water for the next brew right on time.

There was no question as to which beer we would brew first in the new kettle. Considering the time of year, it had to be a special ‘Festbier’ for the Oktoberfest season. We can’t wait to have a pint of this premium beer with you soon at one of our events in September and October.

Confirmed events so far (as of 17th August 2021):

24th & 25th September: Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival

25th September: The Wapping German Beer Fest at Wapping Docklands Market

1st October: Beer and Botanicals at our brewery (details to be announced shortly)

Please get in touch if you are interested in stocking our delicious award-winning German style hand crafted beers in bottles (500ml), mini-kegs (5litre) or kegs (30litre). Now is the right moment!
