The Reckford Roost - Café&Farmshop

In the lovely rural village Middleton  Jennie Palmer established this gem, an inviting café and farmshop. Located in an old henhouse right on the tourist route between Southwold and Aldeburgh the shop is specialised in selling and serving fresh local and seasonal produce, where possible organic. Five years in the trade Jennie and her team offer customers fresh fruit, veggies, Theberton pork and lamb and organic Suffolk chicken as well as local ciders, beer and wine: Reckford Roost, Reckford Farm, Leiston Road, Middleton/Suffolk, IP17 3NS. Opening times: Mon-Sat 9am to 5pm, Sundays 10am to 4pm. The café closes an hour earlier.

Today, the Farm Shop offers a fantastic range of foods, many that are either home grown or locally produced and complimented by unusual artisan ranges from further afield. Darsham Nurseries Café

The licenced Café has been widely praised in national press. It has a casual, social atmosphere in a light, airy dining room with a small outdoor terrace. The owners grow their own range of vegetables, fruit and herbs directly outside the café and in a ‘potager’, or kitchen garden. The menu takes a modern approach to fresh, veg-led dishes. Meat and fish are provided by local vendors. The menu changes to reflect seasonal availability. The Café opens daily for breakfast, lunch and afternoon service, with a brunch menu served on Sundays. Outdoor dining is available when the weather permits and private dining is available in a picturesque summerhouse.
